The COVID-19 Framework and Business Support
New Zealand moves into the new COVID-19 Protection Framework at 11:59pm on Thursday 2 December. At all levels (red, orange and green) businesses will be able to operate, in some form, for vaccinated people.

Resurgence Support Payment doubled
Payments for the first four rounds of the RSP are $1,500 per eligible business, plus $400 per full-time equivalent (FTE) employee, up to a maximum of 50 FTE.
From the fifth round, starting 5 November 2021, the rates increased to $3,000 per eligible business, plus $800 per FTE, up to a maximum of 50 FTE. The frequency of payments has increased from every three weeks to fortnightly, until Auckland moves into the new COVID-19 Protection Framework.
Applications for the fourth, fifth and sixth round of the RSP will close the first working day that is six weeks after the end of the affected revenue period.
Wage Subsidy Scheme
The Wage Subsidy is paid in two-week periods. Since the alert level change on 17 August 2021, eight rounds of the scheme have been announced.
Applications for the first seven rounds have now closed. Applications for the eighth round, opened on Friday 26 November.

Additional support for Auckland businesses
Businesses in Auckland will be able to apply for up to $3,000 worth of advice and planning support, and then receive up to $4,000 to implement that advice. There will also be funding available for businesses to apply for mental health support for their employees.
